Zac Efron has until Jan. 27 to get back on his feet – that’s the night he’s set to step onstage as a presenter at the 14th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, the event’s organizers have announced. Efron, 20, is currently recuperating from an operation to remove his appendix, after being hospitalized Tuesday. The SAG Awards are being held the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast on TBS and TNT. (Click here for PEOPLE’s complete red carpet coverage.) As opposed to this year’s canceled Golden Globes awards ceremony, the SAG event will go on as planned, having been granted a waiver by the Writers Guild of America, whose current strike has effectively shut down Hollywood.
