The third sequel from Disney’s smash TV movie ‘High School Musical’, and first to be in huge screens, is rocking the theaters around the globe.

The film grossed US$42 million in the U.S. and more US$40 million internationally on it’s opening weekend.

Currently holding a number #1 in both U.S.A. and World Box Office, it’s the first movie since ‘Batman : The Dark Knight’ , in early 2008, to debut at #1 in both U.S. and World box office.

‘High School Musical 3 : Senior Year’ also broke the record for largest opening for a movie musical, counting US$16,9 million only in the U.S. on the opening day.

The ‘High School Musical’ franchise has generated two world tv smash movies, two world #1 albums as well as made celebrities out of it’s actors, such as Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale.
