TMZ.com: Zac Efron was drinking with good friend Ryan Rottman literally minutes before Rottman was arrested for DUI. The question, should Zac have said anything to his pal to prevent him from taking the wheel?
Sources inside the Dillon’s Irish Pub in Hollywood tell TMZ … Zac, Ryan, Rumer Willis and a few other friends ordered a total of 7 Kamikaze shots, 8 or 9 mixed drinks and 3 – 4 beers.
Zac and Rottman both left the bar at around 9:30 and went their separate ways. We shot video of Zac running from the bar to his car, though it appears Rumer drove him away. By 9:45, Rottman was in police custody.
Rottman apparently was hammered. Cops spotted him after he drove up a curb near Dillion’s. He blew a .19, more than twice the legal limit.
We asked Zac’s rep if the actor urged his friend to take a taxi or find some other way home that would not have put him behind the wheel. We did not get a response.
Check out this video from PopSugar where they explain the reason Zac Efron has been sporting a beard lately: This may be a part of the character he will be playing on the upcoming movie “The Lucky One”. What you think of Zac’s beard? Love it or Leave it?

Zac Efron received one final nomination for The 2010 MTV Movie Awards, his performance on “17 Again” is up against Channing Tatum for “Dear John”, Daniel Radcliffe for “Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince”, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner both for “Twilight Saga: New Moon” for the “Best Male Performance” award.
“17 Again” wasn’t nominated for any other award.
The 2010 MTV Movie Awards will be held on June 6 and will be broadcasted live on MTV.
Universal Studios moved one of it’s releases (“The Adjustment Bureau”) from July 30 to September, and when they thought they would let the blockbuster season (summer) without delivering the public anything that could appeal the masses, the moved Zac Efron starring movie “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” from October 15 to July 30. Coincidently or not, July 30th is also the release of Zac Efron’s girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens starring movie “Beastly”.
The Hollywood Couple will battle for the opening weekend box office of their movies, since both actors appeal to the always-hungry Disney crowd for featuring former Disney stars (and couple). It isn’t a very smart move for Universal Studios though, says MTV Hollywood Crush movies blog, as “St. Cloud” has had no marketing so far, while CBS Films have been hyping “Beastly” since the beginning of the year, the initial fear was actually “Bureau” getting overshadowed by “Inception”, another Universal production, getting released a few weeks earlier.
Critics do not applaud the move, as summer releases are usually low-key dramas, comedies or children-teen targeting flicks as “St. Cloud” appeals to an older audience than the usual summer crowd at the movies for being a dramatic picture, but Universal is sure Zac Efron’s star power will give it the box office magic…

Warner Bros. has been making deals with Hollywood actors in recent years, to have actors as exclusives, and actors actually look out for long-run deals, otherwise they get unemployed when the shooting and promotion of a movie ends and they don’t have another project to start.
According to Deadline.com, Warner Bros. has offered Zac Efron a 2-year long contract and the studio is planning to buy pitches, spec scripts, and books for Efron and his still unformed company to develop as star vehicles.
At 22, Zac Efron is by far the youngest actor to sign an overall deal with the studio company. Sources told Deadline.com that Warner Bros. are looking after Zac for the past few years and their interest grew after the box-office success of his movie with New Line, “17 Again” and that Efron was also prompted to promote the movie overseas, Warner is determined to find him a new franchise (after the successful Disney’s “High School Musical” movies). Recently, Zac dropped “Footlose” remake to focus on a dramatic pic of Universal, “The Death And Life of Charlie St. Cloud” to be released 2010 Fall. He is rumored to be already in works for his first Warner Bros. movie, “Algorithm”, that is already being developed by the company.
Zac Efron has finally graduated from High School. Now it’s time for college.
The erstwhile heartthrob is working overtime to put more distance between him and his Disneyfied past, signing on to both star in and executive produce Fire, a thriller based on the same-named graphic novel.
E! News confirms that Efron will play an undergrad who is chosen for a special CIA project that tests whether ordinary citizens can—with singing and dancing proper training—be turned into forces to be reckoned with.
We’re not sure about you, but Fire’s starting to sound pretty hot.
